Atlyss Alpha Demo 0.9.2a releasing 5/10/2024



A new update (mainly hotfixes and gameplay adjustments, but some additions) for Atlyss will be releasing this friday. Time is not detemined yet, but most likely in the late afternoon  / evening PST timezone.

Some changes to look forward to in this update:

  • Golem Cores will now stack up to 99, alleviating the bug that ghosts your items upon quest turn in for now. Will be refactoring inventory system in the future to fully fix any item related issue.
  • Fighter and Mystic skills damage output increased drastically.
  • Weapon damage outputs slightly decreased to make skills more of a higher priority to use.
  • Decreased Mouth Poison aoe collider.
  • Fixed slime diva slime pillar aoe working against your heavy melee charge attack collider, causing damage to you.
  • Wizboars no longer deal persistent damage.
  • Optimization updates given to the Crescent Keep.
  • Resolution dropdown setting fixed.
  • Added inverted camera controls for both the X and Y axis.
  • Limited player character proportions will now be turned on by default. You will need to toggle it off in the settings menu to revert it.
  • Added quantity purchasing to the store.
  • Melee attacking buffed drastically. Small knockbacks will no longer cancel air attacks and unless if the knockback is very strong, you will not jump back often if you're currently  in attacking animation.
  • Adjusted enemy arenas and what they spawn in Crescent Keep.
  • Hitstuns are more common to occur for enemies if you are higher level than them. Additionally increased enemy hitstun chance for light, medium and heavy damage types.
  • Re-done quest selection menu to easily locate what quests are repeatable or single.
  • More bows added.
  • Charge attack for light melee weapons added.

Glad to see more weapons for the starter-only classes being added! I can't wait for more bells, they're easily the most satisfying weapon class in the game to me, even if there's only (to my knowledge) one in the game. 

I'd also like to see more variety in how weapons of a single class function, for example a smaller hammer swinging faster but having a weaker ground slam, or the Slime Diva staff slowing enemies down or creating aoe acid pools on charged attacks, for example.

Now what I would like to see is the character customization part....it would be interesting if the dyes and items were like in Terraria, where you have a slot reserved to show items without losing the buffs, a second cosmetic-only equipment slot, as it has items that are beautiful but are weak, and honestly it is one of the bad points in the aesthetic part. It would also be interesting if the dyes were equippable instead of consumable, so you could dye each piece of clothing individually. It would also be interesting to see items more focused In the beauty of the character  :P

The fighter buffs are super appreciated, the last quest of the demo was a struggle for my poor fighter

ima be honest, ive seen you on twitter a lot but i could never figurre out the name of the game you were making so i just gave up, but i finally found this on itch. you should put the name of you game on your twiter updates silly XD.

Thats ok man, gamedevs are suck with marketing. No offense to the devs btw, for me market is the hardest part.
